A new wave of friendly relations and tourism opportunities is on the horizon for Nansha, Guangzhou, and the Indonesian island paradise of Bali. On December 11th, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Commerce Bureau of Nansha District and the Bali Tourism Board, paving the way for a brand-new cruise route connecting the two destinations.
This exciting development was marked by a visit from Dr. Ben Perkasa Drajat, Consul General of Indonesia in Guangzhou, and Ida Bagus Agung Partha Adnyana, Chairman of the Bali Tourism Board. Together with officials from Nansha District and representatives from relevant entities, they engaged in fruitful discussions on the construction and operation of cruise ports in both Bali and Nansha.
“The Belt and Road Initiative has fostered a strong partnership between Bali and Nansha,” remarked Dr. Drajat, emphasizing the frequent collaborations and exchanges between the two regions. He further highlighted the vast potential for cooperation, particularly in trade, culture, and tourism, and expressed his desire for even deeper personnel exchange in the future.
The Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Homeport, one of the largest in Asia, boasts a 225,000-gross-tonnage berth and a 100,000-gross-tonnage berth, making it a natural gateway for this exciting new maritime link. This new cruise route promises to not only boost tourism and trade, but also bring the people of Bali and Nansha closer together, fostering cultural exchange and strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two regions.
With the MoU signed and the prospect of a vibrant cruise route on the horizon, the future looks bright for Bali and Nansha. This collaboration promises to unlock new avenues of economic and cultural exchange, creating a win-win situation for both destinations.
