Beijing Capital International Airport is poised for a significant rebound, with passenger traffic projected to reach 8 million by year’s end. This optimistic outlook comes on the heels of China’s optimized COVID-19 management measures and the airport’s proactive efforts to restore international flight connections.
Since January, the airport has been steadily rebuilding its international network. It now boasts 75 destinations across 47 countries on five continents, with 7 million international passengers already taking to the skies. Just yesterday, the airport welcomed the return of direct flights to Baku, Azerbaijan, marking another milestone in its journey back to pre-pandemic normalcy.
Azerbaijan Airlines will operate flights to Baku every Tuesday and Thursday, offering travelers convenient access to this vibrant city on the Caspian Sea. This resumption of service coincides with the 10th anniversary of both the Belt and Road Initiative and Azerbaijan Airlines’ presence at the airport, highlighting the enduring partnership between China and Azerbaijan.
