BYD Co. has crossed a historic threshold, becoming the world’s first automaker to churn out a staggering 7 million new energy vehicles (NEVs). This milestone achievement was marked by the Denza N7, which triumphantly rolled off the production line at BYD’s Jinan factory in China’s Shandong Province.

This feat signifies not only BYD’s dominant position in the NEV market but also the rapid embrace of green transportation globally. It’s a testament to the swift evolution of the automotive industry, with Chinese brands like BYD leading the charge.

This accomplishment comes just three years after BYD achieved another impressive milestone – producing 1 million NEVs in May 2021. Their NEV sales in 2023 skyrocketed to a staggering 3.02 million units, solidifying their position as the undisputed global leader in NEV sales.
China’s NEV market is experiencing explosive growth, with penetration reaching a historic high of 48.2%. BYD even projects this figure to surpass 50% within the next three months. NEVs encompass both fully electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids, offering environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional gasoline-powered cars.
