A matchmaking event for businesses based in Shenzhen and Spain was held at the Longhua International Collaboration Center in Longhua District yesterday. The event aimed to foster collaboration and explore potential business opportunities between the two regions.
Xavier Garcia Albiol, mayor of Badalona, and Cristina Agüero, the second deputy mayor of Badalona, expressed keen interest in the technological gadgets showcased at the EyeShenzhen’s “Global Communication Ambassador·Shenzhen Story Club” showroom.
Representatives from four Longhua-based firms and six members of the Barcelona economic and trade delegation presented their businesses, facilitating brief introductions and discussions.
Guillermo Creuheras, a member of the Spanish delegation, examined a transparent screen at the showroom. The delegation included government officials from Badalona, representatives from the Shenzhen Association of Industry and Commerce in Spain, Spanish firms, and research and investment institutions.
Around 10 companies based in Longhua participated, engaging in in-depth conversations with the Barcelona delegation members.
Longhua District Party chief Wang Wei and Xavier Garcia Albiol posed for a photo holding a gift from Longhua-based ceramics manufacturer Auratic after the business exchange event. The government officials from Badalona were particularly impressed by a drone performance conducted by Damoda, a Longhua-based drone light show company, leading to an exchange of contact information for future cooperation.
Albert Tomás, president of Spain’s renowned jamón supplier Enrique Tomás, introduced the company’s new stores in Shenzhen and expressed an intention to adapt offerings to local culinary preferences while seeking cooperation with more local restaurants.
Josep Sanfeliu, president and co-founder of Barcelona-based venture capital firm Asabys Partners, spoke about his plans to incorporate products from Shenzhen into the firm’s investment strategies and collaborate with Shenzhen companies.
Gerard Duelo Ferrer, vice president of GD Brokers Inmobiliarios, saw the event as an opportunity to explore Shenzhen’s digital and electronics markets and urban environment designs. He remarked on the advanced state of the city, likening it to living in the year 2050 and praised its sustainable growth.
After the presentations, participants visited the “Global Communication Ambassador · Shenzhen Story Club” showroom at the Longhua collaboration center, featuring high-tech and porcelain products, and toured the Meituan headquarters in the district.
The event was part of an initiative by EyeShenzhen and the Longhua District Government launched in April to create an immersive experience space that showcases Shenzhen stories tailored for global audiences. The Barcelona delegation’s visit to Shenzhen spanned from Saturday to yesterday.
