The highly anticipated Wanfeng Coastal City, the second Coastal City following the popular shopping complex in Shenzhen’s Nanshan District, officially opened its doors Saturday in Shajing Subdistrict, Bao’an District.
The 200,000-square-meter shopping center has attracted 300 brands, with more than 100 opening their first stores in Bao’an. A new Sam’s Club is currently under construction here and is set to open next year.
Ahead of the mall’s opening on Saturday morning, a wave of eager customers had already gathered at the entrance, ready to rush in and be among the first to experience the new offerings. Alongside regular shoppers, many livestreamers were present, capturing the excitement with their cameras and taking viewers on a virtual tour of the mall.
To celebrate the grand opening, businesses in the shopping complex launched robust promotional activities, with many offering discounts of up to 50% off and “buy one, get one free” deals, drawing in large crowds of customers.
The new mall is ingeniously structured with two parts in separate buildings and a public platform, connected by aerial footbridges. A highlight is a 25,000-square-meter Coastal Park which features interactive water features, children’s play areas, and a 400-meter jogging trail.
Another standout attraction is the Coastal Cinema, housing Shenzhen’s first CINITY LED theater, capable of accommodating nearly 2,000 viewers. There are also plans for a Chaoshan-themed area, focusing on Chaoshan elements in design and culinary offerings.
Located near the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, the new Coastal City is the largest commercial complex to open this year in Shenzhen. Positioned as a new landmark for social commerce in the GBA, it has also attracted a significant number of visitors from Zhongshan.
