Many high-tech products from Shenzhen will make an appearance during the upcoming Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games and help with the smooth running of the opening ceremony and various events.
As the Olympic flame arrived in Paris on the evening of July 14, a dazzling drone and fireworks show lit up the sky. A total of 1,100 drones formed shapes like an Olympic torchbearer and were accompanied by a stunning light and fireworks show, which added a high-tech romance to the city.
These drones were produced by Shenzhen HighGreat Innovation Technology Development Co. Ltd., a firm based in Longgang District. According to Li Chenliang, head of the company, the show featured drones carrying cold fireworks flying around the Eiffel Tower.

July 14 is Bastille Day in France, and this year’s celebration was dubbed the “Olympic Premiere” for weaving many Olympic elements into the celebrations.
Hu Sixian, the company’s executive director of R&D, said that the show used nearly 600 meters of fireworks, making it one of the largest in the company’s history.
“The combination of fireworks and drone lights made the aerial display richer and more three-dimensional,” said Hu. According to the company, the drones will perform at the Palace of Versailles until the end of the games in September.
Additionally, from the opening ceremony to various Olympic venues, screens made in Shenzhen will provide spectators with amazing effects.
Shenzhen Absen Optoelectronics Co. will provide over 50 large screens for the opening ceremony, Bercy Arena, Stade de France, fan zones, City Hall Square, and other core areas of the Olympics and related celebrations.
At the opening ceremony, Absen’s screens will appear on both banks of the Seine River, providing stable and smooth ultra-high-definition display and live broadcast support. Absen’s service engineers have already arrived in Paris to begin event service support, including equipment debugging and technical support.
Absen has a long history of supplying products for prestigious sporting events, including the 2022 Qatar World Cup, the 2023 Women’s World Cup, the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, the 2024 NBA All-Star Game, and the 2024 Copa America.
In addition to Absen, Unilumin Group Co., a Shenzhen-based high-definition screen manufacturer, is also serving the quadrennial sports event.
For this year’s games, Unilumin is providing over 2,600 square meters of LED screens for five major venues, including Stade de France, Parc des Princes, and CO’Met Arena, as well as the fan activity area along the banks of the Seine River.
