China’s Ministry of Water Resources has issued a warning about possible flooding in small and medium-sized rivers in southern regions due to heavy downpours expected over the next few days. Rivers in provinces such as Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Hainan, and Jiangxi are particularly at risk, with water levels potentially exceeding alert thresholds from Sunday to Wednesday.
In response, the ministry has urged local water resource authorities to enhance monitoring, forecasting, and early warning systems. Efforts are also being made to ensure the safety of reservoirs, construction projects, and to prevent urban waterlogging during the flood season.
