Two hikers were rescued after being trapped for several hours in a valley along the Niunaipai Coast in Xichong, Dapeng New Area. Subsequently, the Niunaipai Coast hikers rescue took approximately 12 hours, highlighting the challenges posed by the rugged terrain of this dangerous coastline.

Challenging Terrain at Niunaipai Coast

The Niunaipai Coast, located at the Dapeng Peninsula’s southern tip, has a treacherous landscape. Steep cliffs require climbing gear. The sea surrounds it on three sides. It’s one of Shenzhen‘s most dangerous coastlines.

Rescue Operation Details

After receiving an emergency call, the Dapeng New Area firefighting brigade quickly sent out firefighters with ropes and rescue gear. The team faced undeveloped trails and steep cliffs upon arrival. One cliff was nearly vertical and bare.Rescuing the hikers required careful navigation. Firefighter Xiao Kai used weeds and vines for support while climbing.

Locating the Trapped Hikers

Once at the top of the cliff, where the hikers were believed to be trapped, the rescue team established anchor points. Xiao Kai and Lian Jiawei then rappelled down the cliff to reach the hikers. The echoing sounds in the valley made it difficult to locate them, but after more than six hours of searching, the rescuers finally made contact when the hikers were just 10 meters away.

Successful Rescue After Hours of Effort

The Niunaipai Coast hikers rescue operation underscores the dangers of exploring the area without proper preparation and equipment. Despite the challenging conditions, the rescue team successfully located and transported the hikers to safety, ending the 12-hour ordeal.
