Lenovo Group, the world’s largest personal computer (PC) vendor by unit sales, has launched a new range of AI-powered devices aimed at both enterprise and consumer markets. This announcement comes amid expectations of an industry-wide refresh cycle, marking a significant advancement in Lenovo’s offerings.
At its Innovation World 2024 event held in Berlin, Lenovo showcased the new AI PCs, highlighting their ability to perform generative AI tasks directly on the device, rather than relying on cloud-based data processing. This was made possible by the advanced AI processors integrated into the systems.
Tom Butler, executive director for worldwide commercial portfolio and product management at Lenovo’s Intelligent Devices Group (IDG), emphasized the company’s vision, stating: “By combining cutting-edge AI technology with more sustainable designs and user-centric features, we are not only aiming to lead the market but to redefine what’s possible in the AI era.”
The new devices include Lenovo’s enterprise-focused ThinkPad and ThinkBook lines, as well as the consumer-oriented Yoga and IdeaPad series. These systems are powered by AI processors from Intel, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), and Qualcomm, providing enhanced AI-driven features and performance.
One standout product, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition, powered by Intel, offers three major features:
Smart Mode – Intuitively adjusts AI capabilities based on user activities.
Smart Share – Enables seamless AI-driven image sharing between devices.
Smart Care – Provides 24/7 real-time support powered by AI.
With its dual headquarters in Beijing and Morrisville, North Carolina, Lenovo continues to lead in the global PC market while pushing boundaries in AI integration.
